2017 All England Masters International Champions
Adam began playing at the age of 13 after being encouraged by his high school music teacher after which he began playing with the Leyland Parish church Band. After playing there for some years he began playing for the Lancashire Youth Brass band under the direction of Peter Read initially on second euphonium and later on solo euphonium.
In 2003, Adam moved to the Longridge band on second euphonium before becoming solo euphonium in 2005.
In 2006, Adam accepted a place at the Royal Northern College of music under the tuition of David Thornton and Steven Mead. During this time he made the move to play solo euphonium with the Milnrow band. In 2009, Adam was awarded the ‘best soloist’ prize at the senior trophy contest on the test piece, Spectrum.
Due to work commitments, Adam unfortunately left the band in 2010 where he took a break from playing. After short spells with Besses O’The Barn, Flixton and Eccles Borough, Adam was delighted to accept the position of solo baritone with Milnrow once again and is enjoying the challenges of playing with a band that has continued to progress over the years from when he last played with them.
