2017 All England Masters International Champions
Chris has been playing the Cornet since he was 10, and was soon involved in brass bands when he joined the Eccleston Brass Band. In 2012, Chris was awarded a position to study music at Birmingham Conservatoire, being taught by Ian Porthouse and Richard Marshall.
In 2013, Chris joined the Tredegar Town Band in the front row. While at Tredegar he recorded the music for the film ‘Pride’ and attended its premier in 2014, and played with the Rambert Ballet at Saddler’s Wells Theatre for ‘Dark Arteries’ in 2015. He has also performed alongside Tim Minchin and Dynamo at the Old Vic in London.
In 2016, Chris completed his studies at Birmingham Conservatoire and graduated with a 2.1 in Music Performance. He was also nominated and awarded the Harry Mortimer Award at the British Open.
Chris joined the Milnrow Band in July 2016 on Soprano Cornet and has enjoyed a very successful first year with the band. He’s looking forward to his fourth British Open and fifth National Finals later in the year.
Away from band Chris enjoys playing golf and football, and is a keen supporter of Leeds United.
