Rachel (1)

Rachel Squibbs - 2nd Trombone

Rachel started playing the Cornet aged 8 with Eric Landon at Rochdale Music Service. After a couple of years she moved onto Tenor Horn and then Baritone, taught by Ian Porthouse and Steve Walsh.

Throughout her time at Rochdale, she was a member of many of the music centre groups including Rochdale Youth Wind Band, Youth Big Band and Rochdale Youth Brass Band, with whom Rachel won the Youth Entertainment Championships 4 times in a row.

In 2010 Rachel went to study Physiotherapy at Salford University and played 1st Trombone with Salford University Brass Band under the direction of Howard Evans.

Rachel joined Milnrow on 2nd Trombone in 2011 and has since enjoyed a number of great experiences with the band. This includes playing 5 times at the British Open, winning the All England Masters and playing in the National Championship Finals with the band in 2013 and 2017. She is also the bands librarian.

When not at band Rachel works as an MSK Physiotherapist at Wythenshawe Hospital and helps with the Youth work at her local church.
