Derek Rogers 1943-2020

Today the band said goodbye to Derek Rogers, a valued friend of the band and committee member.

Derek had been a fierce supporter of the band for longer than many can remember, he could usually be found with our former President Ken Watts - who sadly also passed away last year. The two of them were thick as thieves, always first in the line for our concerts or sat on the front seats of the coach for our trips away.

Derek served on our committee for many years, taking on roles such as Press Secretary in the past. He was also a keen photographer and enjoyed documenting the band.

Today we were honoured to put a small group together so we could play Derek and his family into the funeral service and also as they left after saying goodbye.

Rest in peace Derek.
