Derek Rogers 1943-2020
Today the band said goodbye to Derek Rogers, a valued friend of the band and committee member. Derek had been a fierce supporter of the band for longer than many can remember, he could usually be found with our former President Ken Watts - who sadly also passed away last year.

Doyle Takes the Lead at Milnrow
We are delighted to officially announce the appointment of John Doyle as our new Musical Director with immediate effect.
John joins Milnrow from Northop Silver where he enjoyed a successful 2 year spell as conductor, highlights of which included winning the Senior Cup in 2018 and qualification to the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019.
Jim Fitton 1937-2019
We would all like to thank Jim from the bottom of our hearts for his tireless commitment and dedication to the band over the past 4 decades. All of our love and thoughts are with Jim’s loving wife Val, sons David and Andrew, and all of Jim’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all associated with Milnrow Band.
Kenneth William Watts 1935-2019
Born on the 27th February 1935 Ken started his banding career as a youngster with the Grantham Town Band before enjoying spells with Woolsthorpe and Melton Town. In 1968 he moved to the Oldham area to take up employment with AVRO / British Aerospace in Chadderton and it was around this time that his long and successful association with Milnrow Band began.
Milnrow & Mark Bentham Go Their Separate Ways
Milnrow Band and Musical Director Mark Bentham have parted company by mutual consent following a successful four year partnership.
